Samurai Warriors 3:
Is an awesome game. I can't play it in my room though because I can't get it to display on my television, and I have to run it through a projector (which is awesome, and huge, but I like my couch) Can't wait for the official NA release so I can reformat my wii (maybe) even though it took me a FUCKING MILLION YEARS to get it to work, but w/e. I kind of stopped playing it for now in favor of--
Sengoku Basara 3
Which is also an awesome game, even if I can't understand like even a quarter of ANYTHING but honestly, it's the type of game that doesn't need instructions... I'm just missing the story. Basically. I am disappointed at Yukimura getting shafted horribly in terms of cutscenes so far.
But I like Magoichi and I LOVE IEYASU (IDK WHY) and Yukimura has an awesome alternate outfit.
For the record, this is the first import game I've bought for PS3 and probably not the last (of this genre, anyway, but others should fan translations appear) - I didn't have any problems with it and I didn't have to wait for the English release (which I *am* buying, but.) I will probably take advantage of the PS3's lack of region locking in the future.
Sengoku Basara (anime, season 2):
Is also great - I was initially concerned but I am currently eating it up in large vast quantities; I have never been so happy to wake up at 5 am on Sunday morning as I am right now (but I'm still not thrilled about it, especially when keyhole is a son of a bitch that hates my internet - randomly, I want to buy the powerline stuff to extend my wired internet =_=)
Anyway, as Yukimura is my favourite character, I enjoy how it is giving him growth. I enjoy how Keiji actually gets to be involved this season. I enjoy that Motochika was in an actual episode during the season this time. I am happy that things occurred and that gives Masamune potential for growth. :) I also like Hanbei and I feel bad about that, but anyway.
NEXT -- roleplay:
I dropped Sabra, I feel better about it, since I wasn't giving it the attention it deserved. Still kinda wanna go back but I'm giving it time until I sort out my CFUD stuff which is really the thing that's killing me right now-- killing me in the way that I just don't... DO anything there right now and I need to fix that. I may... or may not... be apping a counselor TODAY (I need to decide, tbh) even if I haven't started much for it yet, but I did this last counselor round too. :|b
Amat I am mostly still in love with, judge me if you want, but our dead samurai cast of epic proportions may be growing in September (MOTOCHIKA, MITSUHIDE, SOMEONE ELSE WHO MAY OR MAY NOT BE SHINGEN asdlakjsd) so I am excited. Very very excited.

Apr. 29th, 2010 10:42 amI think, fundamentally, my issue with people bitching about the lack of the older characters in the OP (and the game, but the OP just came out so it's more noticeable) is that... Senbasa 3 isn't really just about Yukimura and Masamune this time. Also bitching about no Kojuurou and Sasuke is kinda silly, IMO. They're not playable in 3, as much as I and the rest of the world want them to be.
Tbf, I think Kojuurou's importance is super inflated by fandom - I love him, don't get me wrong. But he was only in one game, effectively. When you think about it like that... Why would he be in the OP?
I would rather spend less time arguing about who should and shouldn't be in the OP and maybe instead on how Masamune joined Ieyasu and Yukimura Mitsunari. Interesting stuff instead of omg no (char x)!!!!

in other christmas news: fluffy socks, the new Wheel of Time book, and my HD PVR thingy for my computer, among miscellaneous other things. My mother loves her couch (and so does the dog) and the gift for my father, a CFL jersey, went over amazingly well that I don't think he's going to take it off for a week.
I am currently wearing pyjama pants and intend to keep doing so all day.

ALMOST finished Yuletide fic. So close, I can taste it. And I don't hate it, which thrills me to no end. I don't necessarily think it is the BEST FIC EVER, but I like it so far and I'm glad Yuletide got me to write something in this fandom. \o/ (And yet, I am still going to express myself in \o/ and /o\ and /o/, so my word use still leaves something to be desired.)

Samurai Warriors 3
Dec. 6th, 2009 02:30 pmI have contained the better part of my squee to my LJ flist, a feat that has been more than difficult, I must say.
The official new characters are Kaihime, Hojo Ujiyasu, Tachibana Muneshige, Kato Kiyomasa, Mouri Motonari, Takenaka Hanbei, and Kuroda Kanbei with Aya Gozen and Fukushima Masanori being unique NPCs.
I have, of course, been particularly excited about Masamune. I don't think it takes a genius to figure that out XD Matsu got the game and played Masamune's as soon as she could unlock him, so she pandered to me amazingly and I am in love with Masamune's stuff, oh my god. Basically, I can't wait until this game gets translated into English, because so much stuff happens during the stages, and his movies and *_* I can't get enough of this game already.
Matsu has uploaded all the movies though it's better to wait until last to watch Ieyasu's movies, if i recall correctly (I still haven't watched his, or even all of them). There's no specific order, but I've read on Koei Warriors that the emotional impact is lessened - but like. Some of these movies are sad.

overall, the historical aspect of this game seems much more authentic, and like... the relationships between the characters, I...
Masamune's in particular, since his story is the one I care about, it... there is more there, with his father, his goals, the people he knows. Kanetsugu speaks out on his behalf after having fought alongside him during their first battle, and there is SO MUCH I wish I could understand and I want to hear the battle exchanges in English so badly because everything that I've watched feels so much more interconnected than in Samurai Warriors 2.
ETA - on a side note, I want to write an excessive amount of Magoichi/Masamune, and once I learn all the intricacies of their stories, Masamune/Kanetsugu are likely as well. This game is so excitiiiingu.

I am watching Matsu scan a Sasuke/Yukimura book and I am crying as to why more people don't like that pairing in English fandom. Seriously, it's pissing me off. Am back in Sabra, which is fun, even if I fell asleep in the middle of the game last night. I'm looking forward to it more now than I was before. Don't know why, exactly, since no memories at the beginning makes me all '~' about my characterization. HOWEVER HAS CANONMATE so I am expecting hilarity once one of them gets a memory that involves the other. Also the idea of Yukimura on a leash so he doesn't disappear again makes me laugh a lot. :(

jesus christ I just. this is illegal. Things I must note: Masamune is the only one in Tenchijin that can make me like the moustaches in it, ASIDE from Nobunaga (because Nobunaga is always hot, shut the hell up.)

Sep. 9th, 2009 08:27 amSo on the topic of Tenchijin, since I'm at work... It's one of those shows I download almost religiously, but don't watch right away. I usually get the raws as they come out, skim them for anything interesting and then get the sub from the Hawaii broadcast which is behind.
The sub for 28, I think, came out - this is relevant cause it's the Masamune first episode. It was awesome now knowing what the fuck was going on. Kanetsugu totally gets under his skin and Kanetsugu doesn't really understand why. I also enjoyed that Kanetsugu hit Masamune where it hurt, in regards to family (again unknowingly.)
AND THEN Masamune annihilated the Ashina. GG Kanetsugu :(
